The Situation
Spotting what appeared to be an unfulfilled market niche, entrepreneur Jonathan Meare approached Lucid Innovation for independent advice on how to commercialise his idea – a beach towel clip.
Jonathan had never developed a product before, or run his own business. We used Lucid’s Make It™ process to advise on feasibility, routes to market, intellectual property, funding, scheduling, design and production.
The Challenge
Jonathan proposed to start a business selling a unique product that nobody knew existed. A product that was low on the most people’s hierarchy of need, in a country with a short summer beach season. About as challenging as you get!
Our Solution
Balancing cost and functionality was major challenge, as was hitting a tight deadline to get the product to market for the summer season.
We created branding, packaging and product design options, helping Jonathan to get market feedback before settling on a final design. We then developed prototypes and manufacturing specifications to make the end result.
