Yorkshire Tea needed 1 million of Lucid's design for a promotional tea bag squeezer & nobody experienced in non-food production.

To help, our team managed the production of tooling & mouldings, arranging shrink-wrapping & delivery. To accelerate delivery schedule, modular multi-cavity injection mould tools were designed, enabling us to split production between manufacturers.

To deliver clear, adequate documentation we collate specification files, photograph, video or illustrated assembly documentation and reference detailed drawings, as well as bills of materials.

Lucid's team regularly manages the selection, procurement and logistics of assembling complex products. For Genie we worked with UK and Chinese suppliers to build the first batch, providing all the specification, assembly and statutory documentation necessary to put products through safety and EMC testing.

When Royal Mail's marketing team needed to deliver SafeBox, Lucid Group's packaging design for diagnostic specimens, our team assumed responsibility.

Achieving Royal Mail's objectives stretched the boundaries of what was achievable in materials & production tooling. A pack tough enough, easy to fill, tamper evident and self-destructing on opening was impossible to prototype using conventional techniques.

Lucid Group had optimised the design with structural & mouldflow analysis, as well as selected and involved materials suppliers & toolmakers early on in the process; however there was still a possible risk of failure.

To validate the design, we commissioned a prototype injection moulding tool & used the components for consumer & independent structural tests.

The results helped us debug and refine detail design & materials specification before completing multi-cavity production tooling. Lucid Group's work was complete with delivery of the first production batch.
