Director of Innovation

A 1988 graduate in industrial design from Teesside Polytechnic. Andrew went on to work in consultancy, prior to completing a Masters in Design at London's Royal College of Art.

After two years as a product design consultant in Japan, Andrew returned the UK to create signage for London Underground's Jubilee Line extension.

On the project's completion he became head designer for a major furniture manufacturer before joining Blueprint (one of the companies that merged to create Lucid Group).

Andrew focuses on ideas generation, discovering the links between people, technology & markets that drive innovation.

Andrew is an Aikido instructor, black belt graded to the level of fourth Dan. He is also a qualified football coach and keen runner.

Managing Director

A 1987 graduate in 3D design from Sheffield Polytechnic. Alistair started his career as a product designer in consultancy, moving on to a leading games & puzzle manufacturer.

He then became head industrial designer in a electronic games company, completing a part time MBA at Henley Management College before founding Blueprint (one of the companies that merged to create Lucid Group) in 1996.

Alistair is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institute of Marketing and a Practitioner of the UK Manufacturing Institute. He focuses on research and the commercial aspects of projects.

Alistair runs the Lucid company car, an amazing mustard yellow Morris Mini pickup truck.

Creative Director

A 1988 graduate in product design from Manchester Polytechnic.

Carl worked as a product designer and project manager for RDA design consultants prior to establishing a successful design partnership in 1997 that eventually merged into Lucid Group in 2002.

Within the Lucid team one of Carl's roles is to focus on the communication of the values intrinsic to form, functionality and branding of new products.

One of Carl's interests includes 70s Soul. He is also a keen runner and improving golfer!

Product Designer & Project Manager

A 2006 B.Sc. graduate in product design from Brunel University.

Jan worked for product design companies, focusing on product disassembly research joining Lucid Group in 2007.

Jan's roles include user interface design, product visualisation, design for manufacture, branding, communications and research.

He has an interest in design strategy, user behaviour and ecologically sustainable product design.

He is also a keen guitarist, foodie and aspiring triathlete.
