Many market sectors face structural change that drives innovation.
In the UK and Ireland, draught beer sales have been in long-term decline, driving brand owners to seek out new opportunities.
One of the many future-focussed projects our team has contributed to was a study to discover how bars, pubs and clubs might be more attractive options for future consumers.
Part of the challenge was the creation of ideas for future leisure environments, drink products and service options.
On behalf of a major brewer, we undertook qualitative research to offer fresh insight, identify unmet needs and deliver new product ideas.
Barriers to sales and new product introduction were investigated. We considered industry insight from different market sectors, seeking out opportunities for ideas cross-fertilisation and growth.
Based on the insights, we developed a range of ideas for new ways of serving, ordering and promoting draft and bottled drinks – both in and out of the home. A series of resulting proposals have been trialled and developed into new drinks brands and new ways of packaging drinks.
