Background
Lucid’s team has developed a rapid process to prototype and manufacture custom welded film profiles into pouches and bags with applications such as:
Invasive medical balloons.
Infection prevention sheathing.
Product packaging.
Discovery
Film welding is an established process in medical device production, but Lucid faced significant costs in outsourcing, particularly for development prototypes requiring multiple iterations.
We’ve spent several years developing reliable methods to weld and cut quickly and with minimal setup.
Working with polyurethane and other films we are experienced in creating tooling to weld and cut complex and simple custom shapes.
Some of the conformable materials we’re now processing have been tested for biological safety to ISO 10993 for invasive human uses.
We have facilities to test tensile strength and permeability to various standards.
