Texecom is a leading provider of digital and electronic security systems to professional, commercial, residential, and industrial clients worldwide. Capture™ is a recent passive infrared and microwave motion sensor design by Lucid in a relationship going back over 30 Years.

We mapped product interactions, considered the competitive context and prioritised opportunities to add value - from production, through use, servicing, and end-of-life.

Design
Working through options with sketch visuals, 3D CAD, block model and prototypes we engaged stakeholders in providing feedback, developing a clean, minimalist aesthetic integrated with a simple, robust user interaction.
A front-loaded encapsulated electronic module helped shield sensitive electronics from damage and false alarm sources.
Design for automated manufacture and commonality of parts reduced components in the new range to 30, from a previous 140.

Providing unambiguous engineering design specifications we involved Texecom's manufacturing team in the UK throughout the design process.
